My first bird's nest necklace
My first Bird's Nest Necklace. It's not quite ready to go. I'm going to add a hammered copper necklace clasp at the top. As they used to say, "Stay tuned."

Planning
I'm planning on hammering down some nails to make clasps. This yarn really wants to be worn as it is, not knitted into something. . .
. . .though, I must admit, I'd love to see how it knits up. To the folks who've purchased these embellished skeins: Please send photos!
I'd like to know why it is that the little flowers all want to hide behind the yarn when it's time for a photo. Are they shy?!

Happy Happy
I did indeed wind up embellishing some of the "kitchen sink singles." I hated the idea of adding anything to them, but I figured I could try to find a way of being subtle and over-the-top at the same time. Is that even possible? I think the answer is, "Yes."
These yarns make me smile.
If you use one of these skeins with the flat felt, some of the flowers may have gotten crushed. You can use wet fingers to flatten them out again. It won't hurt them!
I also embellished some two ply yarn. I love the somewhat elegant satin flowers against the rustic wooly background.
If I kept this yarn, instead of selling them over at Helen's, I think I would perhaps just keep one skein sitting out as a decoration. Not all yarn needs to be made into something!

Humor me
I finally got around to adding some felted beads to a skein of yarn:
It never made it to the store shelf. I'm most curious as to how it will be incorporated into the knitting of the nice woman who purchased it. If you're reading this, please send a photo!
More to come! It was oh so much fun to spin.
I meant to add embellishments to these singles, but I just couldn't bring myself to add anything extra to them:
What do you think?
There's already a lot going on here. . .
Merino wool, milk protein fiber, bamboo, sewing thread, recycled sari silk, and alpaca. . .
. . .or am I being too hesitant about being "over the top"?

Knitting as if her hands were on fire!
Helen, who owns Heavenly Socks Yarns, knit this poncho in three days. She used a combination of Good Karma Farm yarn, my handspun, and the last little bit of my Dupioni silk stash in the color "Dragonscale."
Helen does not sit down and knit, mind you. If you haven't been to her truly awesome shop, get over there! The shop is small, but it's packed to the brim with the most heavenly yarn (of course!)
The other night, I dreamt about being in her store. Now, that's really loving one's LYS, isn't it?

Raggedy Ann and Andy
Oh goodness. I've been spinning and knitting so much, I've forgotten to blog about it! I finally figured out how to get the extra twist out of singles. As usual, I'm having too much fun. I should stop having fun, don't ya think?
These are all merino mixed with recycled silk. Some have cotton ties.
I'm felting some "berries" right now. Needle felting tiny things is dangerous work! I was almost going to post a pic of my bloody fingers, but thought better of it.
